Hi all

Hope you are all keeping well.

Feeling a little anxious as due to go back to work on Monday after being off since October Sad. I am doing shorter hours and will not be back to full time until Feb. I had my rituxibab infusions in December and I do feel a lot better, elbows do still ache but I think it is time to realise that, that will never go away Sad

Hopefully it will be ok

Take Care

BigGrin Hi Lou
Glad you feeling well in yourself.
That's gone quick from October until now! So glad you are being phased in slowly - speaking from experience I found I was shattered when I returned to work in September from my op.
I went up to my full hours a couple of weeks ago but have taken leave for xmas/new year so have not experienced a full week of my full hours.
The work doctor has done recent doctor to say if I don't feel like working the full hours because of ra - don't ! So we will see.

How's the infusions going? Does it take long to do?

Rest easy before your return to work.

My daughter has subjected me to postman dvd (break from peppa pig)LOL

Hi Lou - very good luck going back to work. All the usual rules apply even more - don't overdo it and take plenty of rest!!! Try and organise whatever you can to make your workdays as easy as possible - that way you'll still have enough energy to stay well. Try not to worry too much, and just be satisfied with doing what you can do - you don't need to be Superwoman, because you're already a super woman! You may find that you need a bit extra pain relief to help you through the early days, but once you get back into a routine then the enjoyment of being back at work and amongst your work friends will offset the anxiety.

Very best wishes - Sylvia xx

Thank you for your support Ladies.

I did 4 hours yesterday & I do ache today and feel very tired Sad I have a phased return for the next 5 weeks, work have been really good but yesterday my boss mentioned that i need to be careful as the hours Im not in get classed as sick and he said that may mean I might not get paid for those days, now Im worrying that he said that to get me to do more hours. So paranoid and worry too much! But tomorrow i will ask him to check my sick record. I went into work for a desk assessment when I was off and they have recommended a new chair and have told me to change my desk around. Hopefully the new chair will come soon.

Its not great in work anyway, as we found out before Christmas that we are being made redundant in October, so as you can imagine the atmosphere in the office is not good Sad

Think you are right about taking extra pain relief though.

I had my infusions in December, the first one I was at the Hospital from 9 until 4 then the second one you have two weeks later and that only took 4 hours. Then you have to have a 7 month break in between.

Take Care

Hi Lou - good to hear that the first day went well, but sorry to hear that bad news is on the way. The best thing to do with the months you have left in that job is to get yourself as well as you possibly can be - that way you'll be best placed to look for something else if the redundancy actually happens. The first thing is to try and see the positive side of things - take your pain relief and persevere with your dmards, and learn how to relax - keep focussing and remembering all the times when you feel well and painfree - even if its only a few moments at a time. I find a sleep in the afternoons really helps to keep anxiety from getting hold, and personally I feel least pain when I lie down - so I make that a special time to really relax and enjoy those moments, then nod off to sleep and wake up later feeling refreshed. Your infusion will take time to really take effect, so enjoy feeling things improve as I hope they will for you.

Best wishes - Sylvia xx
